New York, September 23, 2013 -VH1 and MTV’s music discovery site, Artists.MTV and Artists.VH1, today exclusively premiered VH1 You Oughta Know and forthcoming MTV Artist to Watch, Lorde’s, highly anticipated debut album, Pure Heroine, in its entirety featuring the worldwide smash, Royals. Additionally, the site is also exclusively streaming Lorde‘s first U.S. concert filmed at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge on August 6th.
Lorde has quickly grown into a veritable alternative pop phenomenon worldwide. After blossoming into a #1 artist in her native New Zealand, she released her platinum-selling and history-making debut single “Royals” in the summer of 2013. As she sold out shows everywhere, the song managed to achieve the #1 spot on the Billboard Alternative Chart for six straight weeks—the longest run at the top for any female artist ever. Everything has led up to the release of her debut for LAVA/Republic Records, Pure Heroine, out September 30 and streaming now. Fans may now pre-order an exclusive Pure Heroine package from Lorde and VH1. Along with the CD, fans will receive a limited edition Lorde “Folio” including a series of prints showcasing her lyrics and photos. This Heroine is saving pop music.
This marks the latest album premiere from Artists.MTV and Artists.VH1. In August, Artists.VH1 exclusively premiered K. Michelle’s debut album, Rebellious Soul, which subsequently debuted at #2 on the Billboard album charts, and just last week exclusively debuted Jason Derulo’s third studio album, Tattoos.
Artists.MTV and Artists.VH1, along with Artists.CMT, is a music discovery site that powers MTV/VH1/CMT’s network of 60 million passionate music fans and 100 million homes on-air. Just over a year old, the site features more than 35k claimed artists pages.
